Personally, I use these at home in my 12 cup coffee maker, because the filter is large enough to capture the right amount of water. For my personal taste, I only make  3 to 3 1/2 cups, I like my coffee hearty and this is assuming one cup of coffee is 6oz but you will have to brew a couple to figure your personal taste out.
