My Key West Story..
I lived in Key West from 1989-2011 and for the life of me don't know why it took me so long to find this man Joe but to make a long story short his coffee changed my coffee life.. After a year or so of coffee bliss Joe had to move to a new location where there was a delay in getting started due to building regulations in a city where you almost need a permit to hang curtains.. I was in a panic because nothing in stores is even close and to coin his phrase "out of necessity" I started studying roasting myself and glad I did because I don't live there now.. After books and internet study I bought a fairly expensive home roaster and happy to say I can come close enough but I don't really suggest it to others.. Joe will ship his to you fast enough that by the time you get it the beans will be properly rested and you can't get anything like it from Charbucks or anyone else.. Kim J.
Hello: I wanted to let you know I am in love with your coffee. Recently I purchased 6 bags of the Columbian, Smugglers, and French from the discount rack at Kroger's, thinking at least try it. It is by far the smoothest, richest coffee I have ever had. No bitter finish even with the darker brews. I was disappointed only that I didn't clean out the discount rack and take every single one, which would have also cleaned out my bank account, but well worth it all the way around. Where have you been hiding all of these years? Being the stark raving coffee addict that I am, I have tried numerous coffees, but disregarded them, believing my love affairs with the "super stars" of the coffee world were well founded and unshakeable. I never thought I would say this, but here it is: your coffee is better than Starbucks, better than Seattle's Best and even Millstone. I will be buying from you in the future and hope that people recognize Island Joes is a serious contender in the premium market place. Your new biggest fan and advocate, Michele D.
